Paige Eissinger is a natural born tekkie chick. She watched fascinated as her mom took apart wrist watches and fixed them (she still does it). When she had the opportunity to use a computer for the first time, she knew she'd found her calling and remains involved in technology today.
Paige's training background began in the late 1980s when she was working in Quality Assurance management for a chemical company in Memphis, Tennessee.
After her position was eliminated in the early 1990s due to corporate reorganization, she moved to the Kansas City area to become a fulltime ISO 9000 trainer/consultant for the Metropolitan Community Colleges where she worked with local industry to prepare for and attain ISO 9000 registration. It was with MCC that she became certified as an ISO 9000 Lead Auditor and also became a Certified Instructor/Facilitator with Zenger/Miller where she met her husband, Rick Eissinger.
Another move prompted by her decision to marry Rick took her to St. James, Missouri where she worked under the auspices of the Rolla Public School District with local industry in south central Missouri to write proposals, develop budgets and provide training for companies who qualified for funding through the Missouri Customized Training Program (MCTP). She obtained certification as an Instructional Designer/Developer and a Training Manager/Director from Langevin Learning Services while working in the MCTP. After five years with the MCTP, she became the webmaster and communications specialist for the school district and started her own web design/development and training business, 2 Smart Chix LLC.
Yet another reorganization gave her the opportunity to attend Rolla Technical Institute fulltime where she earned a certificate in Network Administration and truly began her career as a bonified tekkie chick. She became the co-host of a call-in computer tech show, PC Primer, on a local radio station for two years until she discovered podcasting through the International Virtual Women's Chamber of Commerce (IVWCC). It quickly became a passion for her and she started Views from the Coop, a tech chat podcast, with co-host Kristi Hicks in late 2005 and soon joined the lineup of CoolCast Radio, a streaming Internet radio station that relies on podcasts for its broadcast content. She is still podcasting while providing web design/development services and technology training for local business and education.

Kelly McCausey
Internet Radio changed Kelly McCausey's business and it ended up changing her life.
In early 2002 Kelly turned to the internet to help earn extra money through providing web and graphic design services. Already employed full time, she wasn't making enough to make ends meet. As a single Mom, Kelly wanted to earn more without sacrificing the amount of time she had to be home with her son.
It was in 2003 that she first learned about internet radio. She became so enamored with internet audio that she looked for ways to incorporate audio with her existing websites, choosing to launch a short audio newsletter for her work at home Mom directory website, USAWAHM.com. The newsletter was only five minutes a week and quickly grew a listenership. This got her thinking seriously about how to bring more audio content to the web for other Moms like her.
With the sponsorship of InternetBasedMoms.com, Kelly launched Work at Home Moms Talk Radio in November 2003. An independent internet radio show on a shoestring budget, the show had over 250 weekly listeners before the end of the year. When podcasting exploded in fall of 2004, Kelly jumped onto the podcast wave, further growing her listenership and increasing her excitement about audio on the web.
Kelly believes that more Moms should launch internet radio programs and podcasts on a wide range of family friendly topics. She created a tutorial that shows how it can be done and has forming the Mom's Radio Network, a network of programs to help to co-promote one another's shows.
WAHM Talk Radio changed the face of Kelly's business. She rarely accepts design work and instead developed a large portion of her income through affiliate marketing. Together with Alice Seba, she mentors other work at home Moms in creating successful online businesses as well.
While Kelly discovered that what you start out with is not always what you end up with in business, it is important to find something that you feel passionate about and will enjoy doing over the long term.
